Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
MERRIK is a private set of web apps used by one family. This policy explains what information MERRIK keeps about its members, why, and who can see it. MERRIK has no public sign-up and no advertising, and it does not sell anything.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, and the access each family member has been given in each app.
- What you put into the apps: for example movie votes, tasks, reminders and notes you choose to add.
- Your mobile number, only if you opt in to text notifications, together with a record of when you opted in or out.
How we use it
Only to run MERRIK for the family: to sign you in, to show you your information, and, if you opted in, to send you the notifications you chose. Your mobile number is used for nothing else.
Mobile numbers and text messaging
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or text-message consent with anyone for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.
Your number is passed only to the text-message carrier service that physically delivers MERRIK's texts (currently Twilio), and only to deliver them. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop and HELP for help at any time. Full details: Text Message Terms.
Who can see your information
- Inside the family: each app decides what family members can see, and access is enforced by the database itself, not just hidden on screen. Sensitive details (for example health or money matters) are visible only to the people they are meant for.
- Service providers: MERRIK runs on a small number of outside services that store data or deliver messages on our behalf (database and sign-in, website hosting, email delivery, text delivery). They process information only to provide that service to MERRIK.
- We share information with nobody else, except where the law requires it.
Security
Every member signs in to their own account. Connections are encrypted, and permissions are checked by the database on every request.
Your choices
- Turn text notifications off at any time: reply STOP, or switch them off in Settings → Notifications.
- Ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing support@merrikecosystem.com.
Children
Family members under 13 are only given accounts by a parent or guardian, who controls what those accounts can do. Text notifications are only sent to a phone with the permission of the phone's owner, or of a parent or guardian.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
